Apple refuses Opera for iPhone
October 31st, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
We were suprised to read today that the Opera Browser developed for the iPhone was refused by Apple and won’t be make its way onto the AppStore after all.
As in the past, the reason provided for the refusal is that the application is in direct competition with Apple’s Safari, the native browsing application of the iPhone.

The only option now left to Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, co-fonder is to make his browser available on the open source application installer Cydia. This will greatly limit is penetration as it’s only possible to access the third party apps that make up the Cydia repository from a jailbroken iPhone.
