Workaround to enable free MMS on the iPhone OS 3.0 with T-Mobile

July 11th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

Here is a simple workaround to enable free MMS on an iPhone running 3.0 with T-Mobile. Note that this hack only works for T-Mobile on the iPhone 3G.

iphone-mms

First, go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.

Add the following in MMS field:

  • APN: wap.voicestream.com
  • Username: leave blank
  • Password: leave blank
  • MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
  • MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
  • MMS Max Message Size: leave blank
  • MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank

Again, this only works if you have T-Mobile. It does not work with other carriers.

i got mms working i did exactly what you said… when i tested it by sending a picture to myself the resolution was um blurry a lil compared to what i sent how do i fix that?

Nothing can be done on that level as this depends on settings set by T-Mobile.. MMS service only allows a file to be so large or optimizes it when it sends the file and these vary from a carrier to another.
