Next Generation iPhone 4G Spotted in San Francisco
November 29th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone
Pandav, an iPhone development company, has noticed that an unreleased iPhone model has been using one of their apps, according to their app’s analytics. The app, iBART, is a public transportation guide for the San Francisco train system, and uses PinchMedia for usage statistics and other analytics. PinchMedia works by breaking down customer app usage and what specific device models are being used, and this is how the unreleased iPhone was spotted. “iPhone 3,1,” an unreleased iPhone model as the current 3GS model is known as iPhone 2,1, showed up in Pandav’s usage logs this month.

References to the unreleased “iPhone3,1” were first found back in August in iPhone firmware files, but this is the first time that evidence that the next generation iPhone (or at least a prototype) has already been created. A similar situation occurred last year, as Apple had also began testing the iPhone 3GS in October of 2008. Also, just like last year, the testing had likely taken place and was focused in the San Francisco Bay Area, close to where Apple’s headquarters is located.

There Are Now 100 000 Apps for That!
November 5th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone
This morning Apple announced the latest milestone for the App Store–it’s finally broken the 100,000 app mark, making it the “largest application store in the world”. They also report that users have downloaded over two billion apps, a number which is sure to make other mobile competitors sweat a bit.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior VP of Worldwide Product Marketing, delivered the following celebratory quote:
The App Store, now with over 100,000 applications available, is clearly a major differentiator for millions of iPhone and iPod touch customers around the world. The iPhone SDK created the first great platform for mobile applications and our customers are loving all of the amazing apps our developers are creating.
Apple certainly deserves to revel in their victory, but they should be careful not to get too lazy. After all, both Palm’s Web OS and Google Android are still fairly young, and the app store was far from a reality at the same point in the iPhone’s life. Don’t forget that the app store only launched in July 2008, by which point the iPhone was already popular. Google in particular won’t be sitting on their laurels in the next few years.

Geohot Declines $10000 Reward and Blasts Scammers
November 1st, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone
As reported earlier, GeoHot has succeeded in unlocking iPhone Baseband 05.11.07 using BlackSn0w. GeoHot was offered a reward of $10,000 for unlocking iPhone Baseband 05.11.07 but he declined the reward and blasts those reselling the unlock calling them scum.

BlackSn0w, the Unlock for iPhone Baseband 05.11.07 will be released of Nov 4th, 2009. GeoHot has posted this on his blog:
First off, Jody Sanders, I am declining your $10,000. Why? Because you, and the rest of the iPhone unlock sites out there are scum. You make money selling freeware; that’s not cool, and I am in no way going to legitimize it.
Seriously, the people who really lose here are the customers. These sites are full of blatant lies, claiming to have unlocks for 05.11.07 People buy them, and are told the unlock is in development, and the release date is unknown. Imagine you bought a cup of coffee and were told it’s in development? Recently, many of these sites sent out e-mails saying they made major breakthroughs and the unlock will be ready 11/04/09. Coincidence that that’s the release date of blacksn0w?
Geohot has asked users to help him in getting the truth out.
The iPhone unlock is free. “Let’s shut all these assholes down”

November 1st, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone
As we know, GeoHot was the first one to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2, now becomes the first to crack the 3.1.2 baseband for the unlock. This will help people who previously had unlocked their phone running 3.1 or higher without any luck. Good news, blacksn0w will fix all the issues.
blacksn0w will be an integral part of the upcoming version of blackra1n which will be released on 4th November 2009 and it will work on both the iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS with 05.11.07 baseband.
