Step by Step Guide to Jailbreak your iPhone With

October 12th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

GeoHot released its latest jailbreak utility for iPhone OS 3.1.2 Blackra1n, a Windows-only release, just like his previous opus, purplera1n.

George Hotz new software is a “30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak.” He does caution that you cannot update to 3.1.2 on the 3G and 3G S using iTunes if you want to maintain an unlocked phone but that otherwise this is the tool you have been waiting for.

To complete the process in 30 sec follow the steps below:

1) Download and install the latest version of iTunes

2) Update/restore to the original iPhone OS firmware 3.1.2 on your iPhone by using the latest version of iTunes.

3) Download blackra1n for Windows. Click here to download

4) Start blackra1n app. If you are on Windows 7 or Vista, run the app with “Windows XP Compatibility” mode by enabling it from the “Properties” tab to avoid any errors during the jailbreak process.

5) Click on make it ra1n:

6) Let the app do its thing and wait for the phone to automatically reboot.

7) You should now have “blackra1n” in the list of applications on your iPhone. Run “blackra1n”, download Cydia and let it install it.

All iPhones & iTouches 3.1.2 Jailbreak Tool Blackra1n

October 11th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

GeoHot has released jailbreak application blackra1n for  iPhone OS 3.1.2 devices. Blackra1n is very efficient 30 second jailbreak tool and works for iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G & iPod Touch 3G running on iPhone OS 3.1.2. At the moment this jailbreak tool is available for Windows users only and soon it’ll be out for Mac.

geohot

WARNING: Even though the GeoHot jailbreak supports 3.1.2 do not update if you are on iPhone OS 3.0.1 or 3.0. You will lose your unlock. Use PwnageTool to safely update to 3.1 without performing a baseband update. If you really must have 3.1.2 then wait for the next version of PwnageTool. If you have already updated to 3.1 or 3.1.2 without using PwnageTool then you’ve lost the ability to unlock for the time being. You can now use BlackRa1n to at least regain your jailbreak :)

How to Recover a Deleted SMS

August 10th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

If you want to recover a message that you have deleted from your iPhone, there are some methods you can do that. All messages you send or receive on your iPhone, are stored into an inaccessible database in its main memory. This allows the system to store a quite large amount of messages to be stored. iPhone it is setup from default settings to delete a conversation from this database only when you choose it and it is no longer stored on the iPhone only after a serious clean of the memory, including the back-ups.

iphoneSMS

There is one hope on recovering the deleted messages, and this is the backup on your computer. If you ran the sync process after the message has been created, but before it was deleted, you can still recover it. For this, plug your iPhone into the computer, and restore the last backup from iTunes menu. Before of this, you should save the files that you want not to be backed up. Another problem is that if you make a backup now, after the deletion of the important message, you will lose the message. It all depends on how important the message was and if it’s just the date & time of the message, you can try checking the AT&T datalog.

For saving, archiving, and viewing the iPhone messages, you can use a software like Syphone, which is a freeware utility for Macintosh, and especially for iPhone users. This software can be installed on your Mac, and it doesn’t modify anything on your iPhone, except the thing that it allows you to view, save and backup the messages on it, even the ones you have deleted.

2. Fire up redsn0w and connect your iPhone 3G on the USB port.

Access your files on your home computer using your iPhone

January 11th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

Have you ever been out and about and you realize you have forgotten to email yourself that incredibly important file or you left your flash drive at home? Luckily, you can access your files at home from anywhere using your handy-dandy iPhone or iPod Touch over a wifi connection and some third party software.

The first thing you will have to do is to create an account with Dropbox, an online storage service. A free account with Dropbox gives you 2 GB of online storage, and you download your files from any computer with an internet connection.

Dropbox has both a web interface and an application that you install on your computer. The application installs a folder that allows you to sync files with Dropbox by simply dragging the target files into the Dropbox folder located in your home directory.

Next, you will need to download an ssh emulator for the iPhone/iPod Touch; I recommend TouchTerm (free). Once you download the app, create a new connection and enter you’re computers IP address and your username. Remote login should be enabled on your mac, but if it isn’t, you can enable it in the sharing panel of system preferences. Open the new connection, and, when you are prompted for your password, enter it.

Once you have ssh tunneled into your mac, copy the file you need using the “cp” command to the dropbox folder. The file will sync automatically and you will be able to access it from the Dropbox web interface.

If you do not wish to create an account with Dropbox or are just looking for a slightly harder but way more 1337 way to get your files from home, it is possible to attach an applescript to a folder that creates a new email in mail, attaches the contents of that folder to the email, and sends it to a specified address. Then, all you have to do is copy the files you need to that folder using the ssh emulator.

Successful Tutorial at Unlocking the Apple iPhone 3G

January 4th, 2009 by iPhoneTechZone

We did unlock an iPhone 3G successfully with the iPhone Dev Team’s tool yellowsn0w, and here is the guide on how to unlock the iPhone 3G.

Download the QuickPWN tool to jailbreak your iPhone.
You can download for windows from here.
And for mac, download from here.

Connect your device with the USB port, and QuickPWN will recognize it. Then download the latest 2.2 firmware from here.
If you don’t prefer to download manually, the tool will download the 2.2 firmware for you. But this upgrade is necessary for the Cydia and installer to run.

IPSW is built and then data + firmware is sent from your computer to the apple website. Then it will need you to do a few things with your phone(like holding the center + switch off button for 10 seconds and releasing). With all this done, the jailbreaking is done.

Then you need to install Cydia to iPhone. Through the installer app in your phone, you will see it already there. Install and then select Cydia from the list of apps in your iPhone.
On the bottom of Cydia page, go to Manage.
Then go to the Sources window, and click Edit on the right.
Click on Add and then enter the Cydia/APT URL = http://apt.yellowsn0w.com

Then click on the added URL and you will be taken to the yellowsn0w download window.

It will install yellowsn0w once you confirm that, and then follow the steps below -
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Switch off your iPhone and place the 3rd party SIM into the socket and switch it on. The phone will not recognize the SIM, then go to Settings and Switch On and Off the Airplane mode and wait for a minute.

After this, remove your SIM with the phone On, and re-insert it. Wait for a minute and you will see your network active. Be patient for a minute or two, so that your phone recognizes and establishes connection with your SIM and network.
