Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes Hits the iPhone
December 2nd, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone

That’s right, while some of you were sleeping last night one of the most anticipated games of the season hit the app store. Unfortunately I found out a few minutes before I went to bed so I only had time to play through the first training level, but let me tell you - so far the game definitely looks incredible and looks like its going to be a lot of fun. I’ve attached a screenshot from my iPhone below:

Armado: A 3D Platform Game Comes to the iPhone
November 15th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
A new games was just released by the creators of the popular Spore Origin.

Armado is a 3D platform action game that features good graphics but lacks some diversity in its level design. It remind me of Crash Bandicoot for those who are old enough to have played this 1996 PlayStation title. The gameplay is limited to going forwards and backwards while you control your character with the accelerometer. You can also jump by tapping the screen to grab things or avoid obstacles.
Here is a video to give you a better idea of what Armado is all about:
Armado is available ON the App Store now for $4.99.

Guitar Rock Tour for iPhone
November 10th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Gameloft released another game on the App Store : Guitar Rock Tour. Very similar to the Guitar Hero franchise as far as gameplay & aesthetic, the game manages to be different enough to have the transition onto the iPhone work and be still lots of fun to play.
For those who wonder about how the gameplay transcends here’s a video of Guitar Rock Tour in action:
The game for now only features two instruments and 17 songs. Which makes it a bit of limited value for the $10 it’s sold at. Hopefully a multiplayer mode and downloadable content will be added in future updates.

Kroll the best 3D Fighter Game Yet On Apple App Store impresses
October 1st, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Digital Legends Entertainment has just released Kroll: The best 3D Fighter Game for the iPhone and iPod touch to date! Offers arcade coin-up gameplay from the 80’s, as you bash and crash your way through nine action packed levels. If the good old side-scrolling retro arcade gaming is your thing you’ll be amazed by this game.

it tells the story of Delon, a warrior who is on a quest to rescue his daughter. To do so, he must confront Kroll, the Lord of Life, and his many minions. Delon is equipped with a giant warhammer that he can swing to destroy his enemies. Using on-screen buttons to control Delon, you march him left or right, swiping and swinging at anyone who attacks. Both the iPhone’s touchscreen and its accelerometer are used at points throughout the game.

Kroll has just given a preview of what the iPhone is capable and put it on top of all others mobile gaming devices out there.
TouchArcade gives a good review of the gameplay in Kroll:
In Kroll you play the hero in a side-scrolling 3D environment. The objective of the game is to defeat your enemies across 3 stages to “learn the secret behind the legend of Kroll”. The gameplay, however, is quite simple. Virtual buttons on to the left and right of the screen allow you to move forward, quick swing and hard swing in either direction. There is no jumping. You are either moving your character forward/backward or swinging at your enemies. There is a special attack that can be invoked at times by shaking your iPhone.
Here is a video to give you the idea of the stunning graphics:

Atari Releases Missile Command The Classic Arcade game for the iPhone
September 25th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Atari has been obviously been nostalgic of their time of fame and they decided to dig into their crate of and dust off a classics: Missile Command.

This game was allways one of my favs of the good old arcade days. I think anyone over thirty will want to pick this one and give it a try again. The game play is good; for those not familiar iit’s an 1980 game where the object is to defend your cities against nuclear enemy attack by shooting at incoming missiles and planes. For the 1st time, players will be using multi-touch feature to launch multiple missiles simultaneously, creating an all new experience for this beloved game as well as updated graphics.
You can also listen to your MP3’s while playing the game. Supports Two players.
The game goes for $4.99
