JBL On Stage IIIP iPhone Dock and Speakers
October 16th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
We’ve had a soft spot for the JBL On Stage iPhone dock for a while. It sounds great, doesn’t cost the earth, and now there’s a new one!

Dubbed the JBL On Stage IIIP, and similar in looks to previous models, the new version is iPhone and iPhone compatible. There’s a sleek infra-red remote to control it from across the room, and it’ll suck up power from batteries or the included mains adapter.
Plonk it next to a computer, and it’ll also hook up via USB so you can sync your iPhone or iPhone through it too.
Non-Apple MP3 players can also be plugged in usig its 3.5mm jack. Sure, the speaker’s not going to give anyone earache at 6 watts, but it’s a neat package, with all the bells and whistles you could need, at a reasonable price.

Logitech launches Pure-Fi Express Plus and Pure-Fi Anytime iPhone docks
September 24th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Logitech just unveiled two new omni-directional speaker alarm clocks/docking stations for the iPhone and iPod that should make the perfect companion for your nightstand. Speakers are compatible with both 1st and 2nd generation iPhones.

Omni-directional acoustics is an innovative speaker technology previously only found in expensive home-theater systems, which transmit sound evenly in all directions.
Vice president and general manager of Logitech’s audio business unit, Mark Schneider, says:
“Our latest iPod speaker docks are designed to suit each person according to their individual needs, whether what’s wanted is enhanced audio and portability or an alarm clock with innovative features such as motion sensing.”
The Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus can automatically light up with just a wave of your hands over the speakers. Thanks to the Motion Sensing technology which allows you to set the time without having to turn on the lights. Still too lazy to get up? Just do another wave at speakers and the system will snooze.

Griffin AirCurve acoustic amplifier for iPhone introduced
September 21st, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Whole new concept with comes to the iPhone with these no-battery speakers. Actually, the new Griffin Aircurve is a horn amplifier. It basically takes a sound wave and amplifies it, similar to the way a horn works. The new Aircurve is visually appealing, with a translucent plastic casing, whereupon the iPod touch (new iPod touch, the 1st generation iPod touch does not have an external speaker) or iPhone docks into the casing. The dock leads into the main canal for the horn, which amplifies the sound that the iPod touch or iPhone creates.

I personally think that this is a great idea because it’s minimalistic, cheap ($19.95 available soon), and power-free, which means never having to pay for power or batteries for the speakers. The real downside is that it there is no volume control (I’ve personally never heard them either, they just came out during this past weekend’s Mac Expo in Paris), no display, no remote, no mute, etc (this is especially a downside since there isn’t a remote for the iPhone itself, so changing songs or volume from afar is a chore). This product is great for a desk-buddy type device, but is definately not for filling the room with music or giving yourself dynamic sound control, but at 19.95 for a ’speaker’, who could complain?

Altec Lansing releases two new speakers models for the iPhone
September 15th, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone
Altec Lansing has recently renewed its corporate image and has signed with new teams with radio clocks for iPhone. Having to recharge the iPhone every night before bedtime and with the habit of using the same (or other mobile phones) as Wake up, these bases with loudspeakers have become very popular.

The two new models are the Altec Lansing inMotion Moondance Glow (iM402) and the inMotion Max (iMT702). What is most striking model iM402 is the lighting system of the small screen to create atmosphere while also offers two alarms and other information in it. Curious to include some sort of remote control from which we can turn off the alarm. As if it were not lifted part of the process of waking up with a team of this type.
Compatible with Apple iPhone, Apple iPod and most MP3 players, the inMotion MAX speaker system automatically pauses music when a call is received on an iPhone. The inMotion MAX is fully immune to GSM and Wi-Fi signals

The Clone Wars ISpeaker
September 2nd, 2008 by iPhoneTechZone

The Star Wars official store has released an iPhone/iPod speaker dock featuring a character from the new animated feature, The Clone Wars, a fellow named Captain Rex. The unit requires four AA batteries and apparently does not double as a charger (bummer). But if you want to get your Star Wars on, this might be the way to do it.
And in case you missed it, CrunchGear has startlingly cool video of The Force Unleashed for iPhone. In this game, you get to adventure through the galaxy as a Jedi, fighting the likes of Darth Vader and his minions. You control your character by using touch-motions on the screen–you can grab enemies and toss them right into the bottomless chasms Star Wars is so famous for. The graphics look downright awesome, and the game is due in a few months, so put it on your Christmas list.
